We spent the day today at the Olympic Park in Beijing. We were here in 2009 when we were adopting Henry. It was shortly after the 2008 Olympics things were already pretty run down in and around the Olympic venues. But now it has become a tourist attraction. They have shut down the roads around it. There are tours and things to do. Everything war updated and maintained. It was very nice. Here are some pictures.
There is now the Beijing Olympic Museum inside the Bird's Nest Stadium

At the Water cube.
This was the first time we went in the water cube. During the Olympics you saw all the swimming and diving events from here. The place is huge.
It turns out that an indoor water park takes up most of the building. We didn't go in the water park area but here are some pictures from the outside.

So we were wondering if they took out the Olympic pool to put in the water park. It took a bit but we found it. It is still there but it is really only a small part of the facility. It was fun to be in the actual Olympic venue. Here are some pictures
